I have had a bonkers month and realised I haven’t posted anything over the past 4 weeks!
Life has been hectic but despite this I am still living and breathing wellbeing, establishing all sorts of healthy new habits. Actually, by not giving up on healthy living, or letting things slide, these habits kept me resilient and energised amidst the chaos.
November has been a month of trains, planes, and automobiles with 3x multi-day trips to the North East, and a 5 day vacation to Marrakech.
Clearly, I haven’t been home much, but I still fitted in 11 fitness classes, 6 horse rides, stacks of dog walking, swimming and even a couple of Northumberland hikes whilst on the road!

The irony of feeling so exhausted you want to curl up in front of the fire, but pushing through to exercise, and then feeling energised and on top of the world! I guess this happens because I am also allowing recovery, rest, and eating and hydrating well. If I wasn’t balancing everything I think burnout would be looming.
Work at Carew Dental is so intense at the moment and enormous fun. The game-plan to convert from a principle-led to an associate-led model is gaining momentum, as we’ve just signed a fabulous, established associate to join us in March, and are in discussions with others too. We’re so fortunate to be able to handpick a dream team, and I feel privileged at the calibre of applicants that want to join us.
In addition to CD, I completed a major homework piece set by Elite Dental Leaders, and within that I created a SMART goal to post here every Thursday and Sunday from 01 December, so that is what I am holding myself accountable to. Do shout at me if I fail! Accountability is hugely motivational!
In any case, there are so many posts about the practice that I want to write about: culture, Emyth, finances, KPIs, recruitment, expansion, and training, to name a few. Plus more personal development topics including overcoming social anxiety, time management, recovery, and resilience.
So, next post this Sunday, have a fab weekend and I’ll see you then xxx
