Highlights to date have been adding a CBCT scanner and treatment planning room, installing a third surgery, and taking on an additional space to create a call centre, office, and meeting room.

I am not really one for feeling the lows as I like the challenges and learning that comes from obstacles. But, if I had to pinpoint something major it would be my unexpected relationship breakdown with Mel, which was extremely difficult personally but as we are joint owners, it has been tricky to navigate without affecting the business.

Looking forward I am bubbling over with excitement for Carew Dental! We are growing sustainably and our clinics are full with 8-12 week waiting lists for cosmetic treatments. However, currently we only run clinics about 50% of the time so are now looking to bring in another associate and build up to using the surgeries to their full capacity.

We’re in the process of auditing our systems and processes, to streamline and improve everything we do. It almost feels like we work in cycles, constantly implementing and reviewing, then tweaking or revamping as we go.

An overview for the next 12 months looks like this:

• Implement a CRM.
• Switch from Dentally to Carestack and implement their AI phone system.
• Update our processes and systems, behind the scenes we still feel pretty analogue in our administrative and non-clinical operations!
• Increase the team to 18-20 staff and clinicians.
• Increase diary capacity to running clinics 5 days per week, using at least 2 surgeries each day.
• Launch Club Carew (more on this later in the week).
• Launch our a new website with guides, case studies and blogs, providing patients with comprehensive dental guidance.

For today we’re celebrating as a team, and of course Uber Eats is booked to deliver our favourite pizzas for lunch!! Happy birthday to us 💛🥳🩶
